This abstract painting, juxtaposing reds, oranges and blues, is the work of Norman Ives (1923-1978). An artist and graphic designer based in New Haven, he was also a publisher of fine portfolios of many of the century's top modernist artists. Liquitex on canvas set into an aluminum frame, the painting is signed and dated (1969) on the verso and is in very good condition.
