Chest-On Chest Dresser

By Jorgen Clausen for Brande Møbelfabrik

Denmark, 1950s
Jorgen Clausen designed this striking teak chest-on-chest in the late 1950s for Brande Møbelfabrik in Denmark. A curved frame that extends to tapered legs capped by brass ferrules holds a case of eight side-by-side drawers with book-matched fronts. The upper case conceals five adjustable tray drawers behind tambour doors. The label of the original New York retailer, Leo H. Spivack, appears in an upper drawer.
