United States, 1950s
Yasha Heifetz carved this figure of a female torso from coursed oak, using the grain of the wood expressively. The Heifetz Manufacturing Company was founded in 1938 and by the fifties was well known for its lamps. This sculpture sits on a base with an opening for lamp hardware and wiring. The sculpture itself is 12.5 inches high and the base 3 inches.
