Mahogany and Lacquer Sideboard

By Harvey Probber

United States, 1950s
This is a striking version of one of Harvey Probber's mid-century mahogany sideboards. At center are four large drawers with wide inset handles; the top drawer is divided into five sections and the one below into three. Two sliding panels with oval mesh fronts reveal, on the left side, four deep drawers with curvy white lacquer fronts and, on the right, three shallow cork-lined white lacquered retractable shelves. Label inside top drawer.

Very good. Expertly refinished. Some wear consistent with
age and use.
