Brazil, early 1970s
Brazilian modernist Percival Lafer designed this inviting pair of lounge chairs as part of his MP-091 suite. The comfortable tufted cushions sit on sturdy straps, attached with dowels to the lower front and upper back of the sloping jacaranda rosewood frames. Buckled straps at the sides and back give the seat further form. The chairs retain their original cognac-colored suede upholstery.
Lafer label intact on frame.
