Pair of Walnut Nightstands, Model 4617

By George Nelson for Herman Miller

United States, 1950s
George Nelson designed this handsome pair of nightstands, model 4617, for Herman Miller's basic Cabinet Series. The tawny walnut cases have a right- and a left-facing hinged door fitted with two shallow shelves. Below the storage cabinet is a single drawer. The nightstands sit on ebonized block feet and feature expressive round walnut pulls with satin chrome inserts. We have a corresponding pair of dressers and a taller dresser or cabinet.
