Denmark, 1950s
Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen designed this handsome cabinet/sideboard for J. Jacobsen & Sonner; it was brought to the States by John Stuart, the well-known distributor of Danish modern furniture. The teak case sits on plinth base and features exposed finger joinery and sculpted drawer pulls. The cabinet has four drawers (the deeper bottommost one has two pulls) to the right of tamboured doors, which conceal additional adjustable shelving.
