United States, 1950s
This teak gentleman's chest is part of the elegant series of case pieces that George Nelson designed for Herman Miller in 1952, rebranded the Thin Edge collection in 1958. Closed, it presents a slim profile, its minimal case resting on simple chrome legs, the only decoration three white porcelain pulls on its doors. When fully open the dresser reveals a pop-up mirror, under which reside a small centered drawer and three wider drawers each divided into three compartments. To the left are two more drawers at top and four shelves.
